Hole description	The base between the forks is 13/32" thick
to give stability to the forks, but the mounting holes are
countersunk so the surface where the screw enters is 3/16" thick,
to match the fork depth. The countersunk areas have straight
walls, not bevelled, so they take a round head screw, not a
flat head screw. They are each 1/2" dia and 3/16" deep.
